As kids we all loved slot cars, our dads, and grandfathers had slot cars, or their friends had them, since wildly popular in the 1960s. Before video gaming came on strong in the 1990s. However slot car racing still alive and well, and lots of great memories of us racing, and working on them, fine tuning to get the most performance and handling out of them on the tracks.
Hobby shops, and area slot car racing clubs, home routed tracks around the area of my hometown Winchester Va through the years. total of 31 slot car tracks that have influenced slot car racing in area, and some of these tracks still have races today.
These are known slot car tracks without any speculation, that existed and were raced on in the Winchester VA and surrounding Hagerstown MD area, and further down the interstate 81 corridor into Virginia. These tracks were a lot of fun and putting a directory in place to exist of all these slot car tracks from late 1950s-2000s.
Drag racing, oval racing, road courses, small HO scale of the Aurora pancake chassis cars. Big scale of 1/32nd and 1/25th scale racing. Some pictures may never be found, but ones that exist are on the directory.
